An exciting opportunity exists to grow your skills and join a dynamic team within the Cross Cancer Centre (CCI). The CCI is a leading comprehensive cancer facility, dedicated to academic and research in providing cancer services for Edmonton and Northern Alberta. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be supporting patients under the care of the Hematologists. Using advanced competency skills, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for treatment modalities such as central line care and access, delivery of systemic treatment, and care of cellular therapy patients within a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team utilizing CoACT. The LPN will be working with a progressive team that is dedicated to our patients and where we promote opportunities for continuous learning and career development. The LPN promotes self-care by providing education to the patient and their families and integrates applied knowledge of cancer pathophysiology, disease progression, and symptom problems to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of best practice and evidence-based care and other clinical interventions. The LPN will Identify and assess the holistic needs of patients and their families and provide professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process consistent with the philosophy, objectives, and standards of the Nursing Department and the CANO standards of practice.
