Your Opportunity:
The CTU is recruiting for an LPN to provide support for clinical research trials. You will be assigned to the Cardiology group at the Mazankowski Heart Institute. The Mazankowski Heart Institute is a world leader in complex and cardiac care. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. The main responsibility of this position is study management which includes screening and recruitment of potential participants, patient care, obtaining informed consents, completing protocol specific procedures. You will be responsible for organizing participant on-going follow-up visits, performing protocol-specific assessments, arranging for appointments and dispensing of study medication with exact adherence to protocol specifications. Any participant counseling and education on study specific protocol requirements, treatment visit schedules and training on any data collection tools will be part of your tasks. You will ensure that you are trained on all study procedures and documented appropriately in a timely manner. Additionally you may be responsible for the development of study specific source documents, and for ensuring source documents are received and reviewed appropriately (such as lab results, hospital diagnostic tests etc). You will prepare and organize participant charts and case report forms. It may be your responsibility to review and file study communication in the site ISF and to ensure that all relevant study team members are updated.
