Job Details Job Location: Baton Rouge Bluebonnet - BATON ROUGE, LA 70809 Job Category: Health Care Weiler Plastic Surgery is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver comprehensive patient care, encompassing vital signs, procedural assistance, and patient condition assessments. Key responsibilities include accurate EHR documentation, collaborative teamwork with medical staff, and thorough patient and family education. The LPN will manage supplies, maintain a clean environment, conduct lab draws, process prescriptions under MD direction, and aid in injectable procedures, all while upholding exceptional patient care standards. Additional tasks as assigned will support overall clinic efficiency and patient workflow. Role and Responsibilities Patient Care: Taking and recording vital signs: This includes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration. - Relaying information to MD. Assisting with medical procedures: This might involve assisting with examinations or other procedures. Assessing patient condition: Observing for changes and reporting any concerns to the physician. Providing patient education: Explaining treatments, self-care instructions, and infection precautions. Patient wound care Assisting patients in & out of clinic Bringing patients to clinic room for their appointment Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate patient records: This includes medical histories, treatments, and progress notes, prescriptions, patient education. Entering data into electronic health records (EHRs): Ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. New patient paperwork, Sending/ receiving clearances. Proficient with patient pictures for before & after treatments Pre-op patients including but not limited to: Consent forms, Instructions, Collecting vital signs, Collecting lab work, reviewing and prescribing medications for MD. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with medical staff respectfully. Working with physicians, other nurses, and support staff to coordinate care. Communicating with patients and their families: Explaining procedures, answering questions, phone calls and providing emotional support. Other Responsibilities: Ordering and managing supplies: Ensuring the clinic has the necessary materials for patient care (i.e. garments, medications, supplies). Maintaining a clean and organized work environment: Ensuring safety and hygiene standards are met. Drawing lab work in office Transmitting prescriptions per MD guidance Assisting Nurse Practitioner with injectables (i.e. Botox, fillers), taking pictures prior to treatments, topical numbing. Keeping clinic rooms fully stocked throughout the week. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma or Certificate Preferred Education or Experience Experience in hospital or aesthetics Physical Requirements Ability to help patients with mobility/lifting when needed. Scheduling Requirements Monday through Friday set schedule Some Saturday availability required
