Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Infusion team plays a vital role in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients receiving infusion and injection therapies. This position supports RNs and the clinical team in maintaining a smooth workflow within the infusion suite, with a focus on patient safety, timely treatment, and quality outcomes. This is a regular, full-time role. The work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This role travels between our three locations- Sarasota, Bradenton, and Venice. Key Responsibilities Prepare patients for their infusion or injection by taking vital signs and completing required prescreening questions in accordance with SOPs. Start IVs for infusion patients and promptly notify the RN once a patent access point is achieved. Administer injection medications as ordered, ensuring patients have future appointments scheduled prior to administration. Document all clinical care provided in the electronic medical record (NextGen) accurately and in real-time. Support RNs by helping with patient turnover, monitoring the suite for needs, and stocking supplies as necessary. Conduct proactive prescreening for next-day patients when infusion volume allows. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and ensure infusion chairs and workstations are clean and properly stocked. Escalate any concerns, adverse reactions, or clinical issues to the RN or provider immediately. Collaborate with team members to maintain a calm, organized, and patient-centered infusion environment. Understand and comply with clinical policies: All medication mixing is to be performed by an RN only. Other duties as assigned. IV certification, required. 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, infusion or specialty care experience, preferred. Experience with EMR systems (e.g., NextGen preferred) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassionate care
