Big Hearts Home Healthcare is looking for Licensed Practical Nurses to start work immediately. We service seniors, injured workers, accident victims, discharged patients and others. This position will be within the local area and applicants are encouraged to have a car to commute to the facility. Applicants are invited to apply and interviews will be held end of this week.
Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Licensed Practical Nrse provides direct care to clients to fulfil the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of clients and in accordance with our policies, procedures and work routines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and write English fluently
  • Licensed Practical Nurse degree and active license
  • 1-2 years experience in a hospital, clinic or facility
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and occupational hazards
  • Observational skills, stamina and physical endurance
  • Regular lifting and moving clients, equipment and supplies
  • Recent and clear Criminal Record Check
  • Organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Proof of required immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hep B, TB, etc.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage resident care according to their needs
  • Interview patients and record their medical history and physical condition.
  • Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
  • Provide routine care for patients
  • Observe patients’ health
  • Review medical charts.
  • Accompany patients to their rooms.
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses.
  • Communicate with patients and their families.
  • Perform standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.
  • Prepare specimens for lab courier.
  • Administer medications.
  • Provide wound care.
  • Prepare and administer injections and/or enemas.
  • Assist with patient comfort.
  • Monitor catheters.
