Valleyhaven is nestled in Chilliwack, an area renowned for its beautiful country setting and vibrant urban core. The three-story residence provides a safe supportive home, and 24-hour nursing care, for seniors who can no longer live independently, whether due to physical or cognitive issues.
We are looking for dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) who are passionate about long term care. Working in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team you will assist and support residents in making choices that promote independence, enhance their lives, and enable them to age with dignity.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS – THE MUST HAVE’S:

  • Graduate of a recognized Practical Nursing Program and current registration with the BCCNM.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • You have the physical ability and stamina to carry out the duties of the role.
  • You have a genuine passion for caring for our residents.
  • Ability to organize workloads and have excellent time management skills.
  • You can work independently as well as take direction, be a team player, be flexible, and be able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • You can pass a Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable adults and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to our residents in accordance with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of Practice.
  • Perform a range of nursing interventions such as initial and ongoing resident assessments, treatments, medication administration, wound care, falls risk assessment and prevention, transfer/discharge processes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans and nursing interventions in collaboration with the resident, family and interdisciplinary team.
  • Consult with the RN, DOC or Clinical Educator regarding topics such as nursing interventions, medications, treatments, dressings, tube feeding, complex diabetic care, etc.
  • Ensure that resident rights are maintained and respected which includes confidentiality and the right to participate in his or her own care.
  • In conjunction with the RN/DOC, you will mentor, assign, and delegate other members of the team to meet Resident care and service needs.
  • Ensure the supply, control and safe keeping of drugs and narcotics on site.
