Peak Medical Specialty Centres is seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Cannabis Educator to join our team at Peak Medical Allendale. This role combines patient education and administrative responsibilities to support individuals in understanding and managing their medical cannabis treatment while ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic.

ABOUT PEAK MEDICAL ALLENDALE:

Our Allendale clinic specializes in Respirology, Pediatric Neurology, Pulmonary Function Testing, Sleep Apnea Testing & Treatment, and Medical Cannabis. We foster a collaborative and dynamic work environment, where every team member plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care.
As part of this interdisciplinary team, you will work alongside Administrators, Sleep Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Physicians, and fellow LPNs. Given the patient-facing nature of this role, we are looking for a professional, positive, and reliable individual who excels in both clinical and administrative duties.

YOUR SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

✔ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Must have current CLPNA licensing (with no restrictions on practice).
✔ Minimum two years of LPN experience.
✔ Knowledge of the Cannabis Act (preferred).
✔ Background in healthcare, social work, or counseling (considered an asset).
✔ Passion for exceptional patient care.
✔ Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
✔ Highly organized with strong administrative skills.
✔ Experience with EMR charting
✔ Excited to work in an emerging and evolving healthcare field.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AS AN LPN – CANNABIS EDUCATOR:

As an LPN in our cannabis education program, you will work one-on-one with patients and families to provide compassionate, individualized support. Your responsibilities will include educating patients on medical cannabis treatment options, assisting with documentation, and ensuring compliance with Health Canada regulations.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall care experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver personalized education on safe cannabis use, including dosing, titration, and methods of administration
  • Take detailed patient histories and input data into EMR
  • Assist with physician documentation and ensure all required Health Canada paperwork is complete
  • Educate patients and families on medical cannabis options, Health Canada regulations, insurance coverage, and available pricing programs
  • Prepare registration packages for Health Canada–authorized Licensed Producers
  • Collaborate with providers to develop and monitor individualized treatment goals

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Schedule and manage appointments
  • Process referrals and maintain accurate tracking systems
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date in the EMR (experience with Med Access is an asset)
  • Respond to patient inquiries professionally and compassionately
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and care coordination
