Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Huntsville, AL 35802 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Nurse License Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services Job Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse will evaluate our patients for emergent care needs and support our therapeutic team within patient treatment plans. Documenting the medical progress and notes while keeping up with all state and federal regulation. There are two shifts available for this position for 3rd shift M-F, 12am-8am. What you'll be doing: Conduct vital signs, i.e. orthostatic blood pressure, weight, height, pulse rate information on involuntarily committed patients of our 16-bed locked down facility. Prepare discharge planning. Provide oversight to the Behavioral Aide working with the clients providing Basic Living Skills. Obtain information from client regarding his/her physical status. Make inquiries of client to include any changes with him/her, symptoms, etc. Assess medication side effects and/or adverse reactions. Perform medication monitoring. Perform crisis intervention techniques as needed. Administer injections, document in client's electronic medical record on a regular basis. Administer I.M. medications. Interface with local laboratories to obtain test results. Ensure required training is up to date. May be asked to work at other WellStone properties. Maintain licensure in the State of Alabama. Complete and maintain documentation in a timely manner. Attend staff meetings. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and use effective listening and communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations. Ability to provide a safe environment and promote quality care through adherence to established standards of care and facility policies, procedures and protocols. Complete other duties as assigned.
