As a nonprofit under new leadership, New Horizons offers meaningful work, opportunities for professional growth, competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and comprehensive training We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Therapist to serve in the Mental Health Court (MHC) program in Okeechobee. This full-time role provides essential therapeutic services to adults involved with the court system who are working toward stabilization, recovery, and improved life outcomes. This position will share the full Mental Health Court caseload equally with the existing MHC therapist and will function as a primary or joint therapy provider for the program. As a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner your responsibilities will include: Carry a caseload of 15 or more clients initially, with weekly therapy required and reassess therapy frequency based on clinical need. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations. Provide individual and group therapy for Mental Health Court participants. Complete all required documentation, including state, agency, and outcome reporting. Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based psychotherapy and best practices. Participate in service authorization, billing processes, and managed care requirements. Collaborate with judges, case managers, probation, law enforcement, and multidisciplinary clinical teams. Attend court sessions as needed, serving as a clinical voice for participant progress. Attend treatment team meetings and periodic staff meetings. Contribute to continuity of care across the New Horizons service continuum. Regular schedule with some court-related schedule adjustments as needed. Requirements Qualifications: Active Florida license: LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT required. Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field. Experience working with adult mental health populations; court-involved or forensic experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills. Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered, recovery-oriented care. Must pass Level 2 Background through DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse.
