We’re seeking a skilled, motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician. In this role, you’ll work as a Veterinary Nurse rotating across a range of support areas in our surgical hospital. From monitoring anesthesia to supporting pre & post-operative care, you’ll be trained and supported to grow your technical confidence in a fast-paced, well-resourced specialty environment. What You’ll Do: Deliver compassionate, high-quality, hands-on care to surgical and hospitalized patients across a range of routine orthopedic, soft tissue, and complex cases Prepare patients for surgical procedures and manage anesthesia from pre-operative planning through induction, maintenance, and recovery, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes Independently place and manage both peripheral and arterial IV lines, perform advanced regional nerve blocks, manage the ventilator, and implement multimodal analgesia protocols while working closely with the anesthesiologist to ensure optimal patient outcomes Conduct advanced imaging and diagnostics to support surgical planning and critical care management Perform treatments and clinical interventions for hospitalized patients, from routine post-operative care to advanced procedures such as blood transfusions and chest tube management, working closely with the criticalist to support recovery through to discharge Administer medications, monitor vital signs and trends, provide respiratory support, and manage oxygen therapy when indicated Collaborate closely with board-certified surgeons, criticalists, anesthesiologists, VTS-certified technicians, and an advanced-skilled nursing team to deliver integrated, patient-centered care Provide direct support for both the surgeon and patient from initial consultation through post-operative recovery and discharge Communicate clearly and empathetically with clients during consultations, daily updates, and discharge discussions Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented hospital culture grounded in shared purpose, clinical excellence, and mutual trust What We Require: Licensure in New York State required 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician Anesthesia, Critical Care or ICU experience is a plus Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is our in-house platform) Adaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workers Expert time management skills Highly organized and acute attention to detail Openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning What We Offer: $32 - $39/hr $7,500 sign-on bonus based on experience Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage Generous paid time off, up to 120 hours of PTO per year Three paid CE days per year in addition to reimbursement of CE registration and travel stipend Discounted pet insurance through MetLife Paid Parental Leave 401(k) with a company match Voluntary benefits through MetLife Employee pet discounts Scrub allowance An organization that supports you and provides the resources to nurture your talents and goals Continuing Education: We're serious about your growth and development.
