Licensed Veterinary Technician Supervisor VCA Jones Road Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team. This is a vital role in our hospital and works closely with the Hospital Manager and Medical Director to constantly build the practice and team. VCA Jones Road is an AAHA-Accredited, multi-doctor, fast pace practice in Houston, Texas offering excellent medical and customer service. The primary role of this position is to supervise the technical team which includes the Technician Assistants, Veterinary Assistants, RVTs. VCA Jones Road is a well-established practice located in northwest Houston. We are a fast-paced urgent care facility with a loyal client base and a reputation for delivering high-quality compassionate care. Education and Experience: High School Diploma Certified or Registered Technician status or equivalent practice experience of at least 5 years’ experience. Prior supervisory experience. Knowledge of medical equipment management and maintenance. The successful candidate will have skills and abilities as follows: Strong medical skills. Customer Service. Human Resources knowledge. Supervisory experience. Experience with scheduling staff Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Goal-oriented. Ability to take information obtained from clients, staff, and other sources, discern that which is credible and assess the hospital and its operation objectively. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once, and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities. Must have strong medical skills. Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts. Ability to direct workflow on the floor. Coach and mentor staff. Assist with interviews. Ensure the policies, procedures and guidelines are followed. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities. Veterinary Technician skills: Surgical preparation and assisting. Anesthesia monitoring. Dentistry Radiology Laboratory Venipuncture Catheter placement.
