Description

The Licensed Vocational Nurse performs a wide variety of patient care activities under the direction of registered nursing personnel. Nursing duties include participating in the planning of patient care, assisting with examinations, procedures and treatments, administering medications within scope of practice, and following medication management per policy. Duties also include assisting with ADL's, taking of patients' vital signs, and recording results on patients' charts. As an acute care, 50-bed community hospital, Norwalk Community Hospital provide quality healthcare to the Norwalk and surrounding communities. This includes our 24/7 emergency department and more than a dozen specialties, including pulmonary, gastrointestinal, cardiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, surgical services and more.

Responsibilities

The Licensed Vocational Nurse performs diverse patient care activities under the direction of registered nursing personnel, including planning care, assisting with procedures, and administering medications within their scope of practice. Duties also involve assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), taking vital signs, and accurately recording patient information.
