Department/Unit Summary An LVN is a healthcare professional who provides basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and doctors. Their duties often include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting with daily living activities, and keeping patient records. LVNs typically work in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and home health settings. They must complete a state-approved educational program and pass the NCLEX-PN exam to obtain licensure.
