POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Licensed Water & Wastewater Operator with expertise in pipe inspection and utility testing to join our team. This role is critical to ensure all underground systems are properly tested, commissioned, and documented for municipal approvals. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in all stages of pipe inspection, testing, commissioning, and reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Operator Certification in Ontario (Class I or higher in Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collection).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of field experience in pipe testing and inspection.
  • In-depth knowledge of municipal and provincial standards (e.g., MOECP, AWWA, OPS).
  • Experience with CCTV inspection software and related tools.
  • Strong understanding of Safe Drinking Water Act and Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECAs).
  • Valid G-class driver’s license (DZ license is an asset).
  • Current certifications in:
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Working at Heights

Responsibilities
  • Conduct CCTV inspections of storm and sanitary sewer systems.
  • Perform hydrostatic and air pressure testing on watermain and sewer pipes.
  • Execute chlorination, flushing, dechlorination, and bacteriological testing of watermains per Ontario regulations.
  • Develop and implement Water Commissioning and Decommissioning Plans in accordance with municipal requirements.
  • Support and lead mandrel and deflection testing of sewer infrastructure.
  • Compile test reports, certificates, and documentation for city inspectors and engineers.
  • Coordinate directly with municipalities, consultants, and third-party testers.
  • Maintain all testing equipment and ensure its proper calibration and certification.
  • Stay up to date with current Ontario water and wastewater regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
