JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, you will be responsible for startup planning and activities on major projects. You will coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, and clients to leverage diverse technical team skills to integrate the startup plan. You will identify risks and trends, manage progress reporting, and proactively course correct to ensure goals, schedules, and requirements are met.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) related to the position and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledde and experience in the CSU Process, working as PreOp Manager, or PreOp Area Manager or PreOp Supervisor. Experience and acknodleg in Coper Concentrator and SX/EW Plants, know Bechtel CSU Procedures.
• Experience as PReOp Manager, Experience as PreOp Area Manager, knowledge of CSU Process (Smart Completion, LOTO, Procedures, English skills).

• PSUM Tier I - most applicable to Deputy PSUMs on medium projects, Area Leads on Mega-projects and PSUMs on projects (
• Being responsible for the startup and/or operations activities on one or more major projects, designated portions of a very large or complex project, or multiple smaller projects as assigned.
• Planning and at times directing startup engineering assignments and as directed, performs performance reviews for assigned personnel.
• Assisting, as directed, in the preparation of project proposals.
• Coordinating with project management, the startup related engineering, construction, and client activities as an office assignment or during startup, operations, maintenance or testing at the jobsite.
• Preparing or directing the preparation of operations manuals.
• Supervising and providing technical guidance to subordinate supervisors or startup engineers assigned to projects or tasks within area of responsibility.
• Estimating staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to meet schedule dates.
• Conducting execution planning for project scope through plans, procedures, schedules, and budgets.
• Managing progress reporting framework for the project (startup/ops scope), and reviews on an ongoing basis with team, taking proactive course corrections as necessary.
