JOB SUMMARY:

The SCOR Life Data Intern pool is a group resource to support SCOR’s data enhancement strategy in South Asia.
This Data Intern pool is managed by the South East Asia Life Pricing team, but will also service other data and actuarial functions for valuation, technical accounting, inforce management, underwriting and R&D. Data interns will be assigned to multiple projects across different departments during the duration of the internship as required by ongoing projects.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science/engineering, IT engineering, risk analytics, finance, or mathematics with a strong interest in Life/Medical insurance industry.
  • Preference will be given to candidate who are in the second or third year of their bachelor’s degree programme.

Skills and Personal Competences:

  • Applied experience with coding language for data handling; preferably Python, will also consider R/SQL
  • Proficiency in other data handling and presentation tools would be an advantage. Examples: Power BI, Tableau
  • Microsoft Office (especially in Excel & Power Point) skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking ability
  • Willingness to explore and experiment in new areas with little prior knowledg
Responsibilities
  • Assist core data handling processes
  • Propose and design automation of data handling processes for operational efficiency
  • Analysis of internal experience data across countries, clients and risk types for assumption setting and benchmarking
  • Sourcing, compilation and analysis of public data for research purposes
  • Perform deep-dive analysis on specific aspects of internal data for deriving new insights for SCOR
