Hours: 12-8PM (2 week rotation)
Week 1: Wed, Thurs, Fri. Week 2: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun
Position Overview: The Life Enrichment position is responsible for enriching the lives of our Residents by providing emotional support, engaging Residents in meaningful activities, and ensuring Residents social needs are met throughout each day. The Life Enrichment Assistant will provide person-centered care in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Home, Residents’ Bill of Rights, applicable legislation and regulations, corporate policies and procedures, the collective agreement and professional standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

· Provide day to day services and support to individual Residents and offer a warm, safe environment, ensuring comfort, support and companionship to Residents.
· Engage Residents in meaningful activities with a strengths based approach
· Responsible for comfort rounding
· Monitor Residents to minimize risks in areas related the LTCHA mandatory programs.
· Assist with the delivery of Resident meals and assist with Resident nourishments
· Respond to Residents needs, by providing assistance in completing individualized tasks within scope of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Post-secondary education in Recreation/Leisure program at a College level and or other related field preferred
· First Aid/CPR & Food Handler Certification, Mealtime Partners, Dementiability Training considered an asset
