Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation & Leisure Services (or enrolled) or other related field of study.
• Experience working with seniors in a Long Term Care Setting
• Interpersonal skills
• Computer skills (specifically Point Click Care)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assessment of residents related to recreation
• Develop individualized resident care plans
• MDS coding for quarterly and annual reviews
• Document on MDN according to policies and procedures
• Takes direction from and reports to the Life Enrichment Manager
• Plan, implement and evaluate programs that include: large groups, small groups and one to one programs
• Assist and/or lead group or one to one programs
• To continue therapy programs as directed by visiting or contracted therapist
• Assist residents to and from program area
• Assist with seasonal decoration
• Assist in maintaining equipment and supplies in a neat and safe manner
• Provide direction and supervision to volunteers and students
• Participate at team meetings, care conferences, in –services
• Participate in CQI Activities
• Work evenings & weekends as required.
• Demonstrated ability to reliably attend work as scheduled
