Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled Illustration Analyst with deep experience in life insurance product modeling and calculations. This role focuses on developing, testing, and maintaining accurate illustration models using VPMS, Excel, and Assure Product Engine, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of life and annuity products, actuarial concepts, and illustration logic, and is capable of bridging the gap between actuarial modeling and illustration system implementation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience working with life insurance illustrations, preferably in a modeling, testing, or business analyst capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of VPMS (modeling, testing, and rate logic) and Assure Product Engine.
  • Solid actuarial foundation or experience in life/annuity calculations; ASA/FSA designation or actuarial exam progress preferred.
  • Expertise in Excel-based calculations, including testing life and annuity product illustrations and building prototypes.
  • Proficiency with Excel VBA, and scripting familiarity with JavaScript or similar languages.
  • Deep understanding of insurance product structures, including Term, UL, IUL, SUL, and associated riders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (CVAT, guideline premiums, etc.) in the context of illustration logic.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or related technical discipline.
  • Exposure to ACORD standards, web-based deployment environments, and GIT/version control tools.
  • Experience working in illustration development or testing teams at a life insurance company or vendor.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both actuarial and technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple illustration projects in parallel.
At DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success. Our work model prioritizes in-person collaboration while offering flexibility to support wellbeing, productivity, individual work styles, and life circumstances. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain VPMS-based illustration models, including rate testing and product logic validation.
  • Support Assure Product Engine implementation by mapping complex product structures into the illustration platform.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, product, and development teams to ensure illustration calculations are accurate, consistent, and compliant.
  • Build and validate life and annuity product illustrations in Excel, including robust testing frameworks and calculation audits.
  • Script calculation logic using Excel VBA and other scripting tools (e.g., JavaScript) to prototype or troubleshoot illustration outputs.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of insurance product structure and regulatory rules (e.g., CVAT, guideline premium tests) to support compliant model development.
  • Support quality assurance for new product launches, updates, and system conversions by performing regression and compliance testing.
  • Document model assumptions, test results, and illustration rules to support audit and business review processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (actuarial, IT, product) on end-to-end illustration development lifecycle.
  • Ensure alignment with industry data standards such as ACORD, where applicable.
  • Use GIT or similar tools for version control of illustration models and testing assets.
