Description At Galloway Ridge, we take pride in providing exceptional, resident-centered care in a warm and supportive community. We are looking for a Life Safety Coordinator who is detail-oriented and focused on the safety of our community. They will also lend a hand to the Security Department as needed. The Life Safety Coordinator is expected to be on campus during all shifts for fire drills and will respond to any after-hours life safety system issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs, supports, and assists with assigned work efforts for daily operations and services related specifically to all systems including emergency response systems, access control systems, alert systems, critical systems [elevators/generators], all fire related systems, and life safety procedures & documentation. Executes resolutions, programs, and repairs while working with and supporting the team. These examples include: surveillance monitoring, safety & emergency devices, egress door and apparatuses, regulatory surveys and resolutions, emergency preparedness program and activities, orientations/trainings, and other ad hoc requests within the purview of life safety. Act as a support personnel for the Manager of Fire and Life Safety. This could include assistance with technical assistance, safety policies, vendor service coordination, supply levels & ordering, as well as tools & equipment maintenance to ensure adequate availability, coverage, and understanding exist for the completion of tasks and assignments. All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience. Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred Valid Drivers License At least 3-5 years of building/life safety system technical knowledge is preferred to include but not limited to: access control systems [KABA, SALTO, KERI, HORTON doors/locking equipment], medical alert systems [R-Care emergency call / nurse call systems, radios, pagers], ACCUTECH [Wander Guard] system, and fire alarm and sprinkler systems. On-the-job-training will be provided regarding Fire Alarm & Emergency call response. At least one year of general maintenance experience is preferred, hand tools, basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural. Must be able to read blueprints, specifications and schematics. Must have a working knowledge of general maintenance, electrical wiring, minor carpentry, including a demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools and read measuring instruments. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to work collaboratively within a diverse work group. Must be willing to perform duties inside and outside the facility when necessary. Must enjoy working with and have the ability to cooperate with other employees and department directors. Must have a genuine interest in geriatric care and must believe in and uphold the philosophy of the facility. Must be willing and eager to work with and provide assistance to the residents of the facility.
