responsibilities:

  • Serve as the engineer of record for various projects.
  • Provide guidance to co-workers and receive input from senior design professionals.
  • Design fire solutions including fire sprinklers, gaseous agents, fire detection, toxic gas detection, smoke modeling, and explosion prevention.
  • Interface directly with clients and code officials.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create 3D BIM models for design coordination.
  • Design various systems from 3D models, including fire sprinkler, fire alarm, smoke/leak detection, and security/intrusion detection.
  • Provide calculations, equipment sizing, specifications, and network diagrams based on codes and standards.
  • Produce both 2D and 3D construction deliverables for a constructible design.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of various codes: IFC, IBC, NFPA101, NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), and NFPA 400.
  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems and manufacturers’ equipment, including VESDA systems.
  • Design experience with Fire Alarm, VESDA, security CCTV, HPM, and Leak Detection systems.
  • Knowledge of design and construction specifications.
  • Experience estimating and scheduling mid-to-large-scale projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with the ability to attain PE licensure.
  • At least 4 years of AutoCAD design experience.
