    Your Responsibilities

The Faculty Recruiting & Evaluations team is part of the division Academic Affairs, a core administrative division that deals with the organization of academic life at ISTA. The team organizes and coordinates the professorial appointment procedures and is responsible for the operational management for scientific evaluations, like tenure evaluations and topical reviews. It promotes excellence in science and in science administration. As part of our team, your tasks will include:

  • Coordination and administration of faculty recruiting processes – including assessment of applications, coordination of candidate visits and recruiting symposia, preparation for and communication with evaluation committees
  • Coordination of scientific evaluations – including the preparation of reports and dossiers, and supporting evaluation panels and onsite visits
  • Further development and conceptualization of processes and related rule sets in the area of scientific quality assurance
  • Contact point for and close cooperation with relevant internal and external stakeholders (faculty, office of the President, panel members and other organizational units)

Your Profile

  • PhD in the Life Sciences and postdoctoral experience in basic scientific research are required, as this position demands a deep understanding of international academic processes and standards
  • Several years of experience in academic administration or a related field (please outline your experience in your cover letter)
  • International experience, including an extended stay abroad, is advantageous
  • Strong conceptual and process management skills for developing structures and implementing procedures
  • Interest in sustaining and implementing high academic quality standards
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus
  • Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach, with a high ability to multitask and prioritize
