REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional background in recreation therapy, occupational therapy, special education, or a comparable discipline.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication—both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for off‑site visits and community outreach.

PREFERRED (NICE‑TO‑HAVE) QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in life coaching, job coaching, or vocational rehabilitation.
  • Experience with individualized support plans (ISPs).
  • Ability to lead group workshops and facilitate peer learning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an organized, collaborative, and conscientious professional to serve as a Life Success Coach and Program Manager for a well‑mannered 28‑year‑old man with an intellectual disability. The ideal candidate will have a background in recreation therapy, occupational therapy, special education, or a related field that emphasizes client‑centered support, curriculum development, and skill‑building.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Life Coaching & Mentorship
  • Physical Wellness: Guide daily exercise routines, nutrition planning, and healthy habit formation.
  • Environmental Skills: Assist with household tasks, teamwork projects, and personal passions such as art and music.
  • Social/Interpersonal Growth: Model and practice friendship building, conversational skills, and broader social interactions.
  1. Job Coaching
  • Conduct skill assessments to identify strengths and development areas.
  • Cultivate employment opportunities aligned with the client’s interests and abilities.
  • Provide on‑the‑job coaching and ongoing support to ensure successful job performance.
  • Oversee job maintenance, addressing challenges and celebrating milestones.
  1. Curriculum Development & Group Instruction
  • Design and deliver a small‑group curriculum covering:
  • Food preparation & cooking basics
  • Personal safety awareness
  • Fitness and movement fundamentals
  • Adapt lesson plans to varied learning styles and ability levels.
  1. Communication & Networking
  • Promote the curriculum to community partners, local businesses, and peer groups.
  • Build relationships with agencies, employers, and support networks to expand opportunities for participants.
