Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Lifeboat and MES Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and operational readiness of lifeboats, rescue boats, and their associated systems. From performing inspections and maintenance to supporting emergency drills and ensuring compliance with international maritime standards, your work will directly contribute to the safety of passengers and crew on board.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance & Inspections:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on lifeboats, liferafts, rescue boats, and launching systems.
  • Test and repair lifeboat engines, hoisting mechanisms, and essential systems.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and ready for deployment.

Safety Compliance:

  • Uphold SOLAS, IMO, and flag state regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and certifications.
  • Support emergency drills and evacuation procedures.

Troubleshooting & Repairs:

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Perform repairs following safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications.

Certification & Documentation:

  • Manage certifications for lifeboats and associated equipment.
  • Prepare detailed reports for audits and inspections.

Training & Support:

  • Provide technical training and guidance on lifeboat operations and maintenance to crew members.
