JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the Software and Lifecycle Asset Management team (SAM), the Technology Lifecycle Management Analyst is responsible for coordinating and leading the lifecycle program. The individual will work in a multi-disciplined operational structure to deliver effective governance, reporting and visualization around end-of-life risk mitigation of both hardware and software assets. The individual will collaborate with members of the Software Asset Licensing Team on the collection, management and governance of enterprise asset inventory data. The role will involve analyzing hardware and software inventory data and raising the awareness of lifecycle risk by generating, maintaining, and reviewing reports and dashboards. The individual will work with product teams, infrastructure teams, system administrators, platform teams, database managers, and information security professionals across the organization to identify lifecycle risks, document mitigation plans and track progress towards completion of remediation plans. The individual will lead and facilitate review sessions with teams across the enterprise to raise awareness of future and current lifecycle risks with hardware and software products present in their operational areas. The individual will be responsible for maintaining the quality and completeness of all enterprise lifecycle data. The individual will provide verbal and written status updates to senior executives concerning pending lifecycle events and the associated risks, as well as the progress to complete documented remediation plans.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of lifecycle and asset management processes and systems (i.e. ITAM - IT Asset Management, Technology Lifecycle Management, NIST, ITIL – IT Infrastructure Library, etc)
  • Experience working with ServiceNow and Flexera solutions and tools
  • Working knowledge of server and end-user device infrastructure technologies such as operating systems, virtualization platforms, hardware platforms, and hyper-converged solutions
  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure technologies such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and associated asset discovery tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Solutions, including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Flow and Forms
  • Experience with creating and maintaining complex SQL data queries
  • Experience in identifying and evaluating lifecycle management specifications on hardware product manufacturers such as HP, Dell, Cisco and Apple
  • Experience in identifying and evaluating lifecycle management specifications on software product publishers such as Microsoft, Red Hat, Oracle, Broadcom and IBM

Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the lifecycle management program
  • Gather, interpret and analyze inventory data related to the lifecycle of software and hardware assets in an environment that consists of over 30000 servers, 300000 end user devices, 2000 software manufacturers and 6000 software products
  • Collaborate with Information Security personnel to understand risks and threats associated with lifecycle activities to assist in establishing a prioritized approach to remediating lifecycle debt
  • Collaborate with IT Service Management (ITSM) and Infrastructure Operations teams to resolve discovery and inventory collection issues that impact lifecycle data quality
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to the organization on lifecycle mitigation strategies that incorporate factors such as security risk, impact to change, business impact, and cost
  • Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations to communicate life cycle program statuses, key findings and actionable recommendations
  • Maintain relationships with infrastructure, product and application teams to align manufacturer’s product roadmap plans to lifecycle program objectives
  • Research and stay abreast of hardware manufacturer’s and software publisher’s key product lifecycle dates
  • Review hardware and software vendor contracts for applicable upgrade and refresh rights and obligations
  • Identify and recommend improvements to processes and tools related to the lifecycle management program
  • Offer consulting guidance when working with internal stakeholders from other departments, business units and divisions to address their lifecycle asset debt
  • Maintain and support lifecycle initiatives to achieve the overall lifecycle program goals
  • Evaluate the lifecycle program for continuous improvement opportunities
