Braeswood - Houston, TX 77096 Position Type: Part Time Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services Job Summary We are looking for attentive, alert and self-motivated people to ensure the safety of all patrons present by enforcing facility regulations, monitoring activity, and rendering emergency care in the event that a patron suffers from an incident. You must be comfortable in water, high heat, sun exposure and performing tasks around the facility to help keep it clean and safe. This position is YEAR-LONG. We offer a flexible schedule and are looking for someone who can work during the week and REQUIRED WEEKEND MORNING shifts: Monday - Friday 5am – 10am (2-3 days per week) Responsibilities Always come to work in proper uniform and be ready to work Supervise the safety of all swimmers in the pool by always being rescue ready Ensure the pool and facility is clean at all times Enforce the rules of the pool and the facility Report any unsafe water of facility conditions to a supervisor immediately Recognize, react and respond to emergency situations according to your training and using the emergency action plan Perform any tasks or duty assigned to you by a supervisor as scheduled and expected Participate in mandatory in-service training sessions Assure the pool is ready and opened promptly when it is scheduled by arriving on time Respond to members questions and requests within the rules of the facility and to strive to achieve customer satisfaction when possible Maintain a healthy fitness level by swimming and working out on a regular basis Keep accurate records of the pool chemicals and users of the pool Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification – Can be obtained after hire. An understanding and ability to follow rules, policies and procedures Ability to demonstrate good decision-making skills Must be friendly and outgoing with an ability to provide a high level of customer service

The lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers by being rescue ready and enforcing facility regulations. They must also maintain cleanliness and respond to emergency situations as per training.
