Position Summary: The Lifeguards are responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of those using the club’s swimming pool, preventing, and responding to emergencies and for promoting the pool as a fun and hospitable environment for all club members in accordance with the policies, procedures and general character of the Country Club. Requirements Scans the area of surveillance to make sure that everyone is safe. Acts in emergency situations and provides rescue and first aid assistance up to his or her training level until medical personnel arrive. Inspects the aquatic facility for unsafe conditions and cleanliness to prevent accidents and reports any hazards to the supervisor. Enforces rules consistently and fairly and informs swimmers of improper activities or hazards. Fills out reports for incidents or other records for reference. Interacts politely with members, guests, and acts as a role model for young children. Attends all meetings and training sessions for the aquatic facility staff. Any other additional duty required by the Aquatics Director or the General Manager Must be at least 16 years of age Qualifications: Lifeguards must have current CPR, First Aid, and Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications, and Water Safety Instruction Certification and the ability to engage positively with CCC members, guests, and staff. Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours Able to swim 500 yards in under 10 minutes Able to tread water for at least 10 minutes Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
Lifeguards are primarily responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all individuals using the club's swimming pool by actively scanning the area and responding to emergencies. They must also promote the pool as a fun and hospitable environment while consistently enforcing club rules.
