Description Position Overview: The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests by monitoring aquatic areas, responding to emergencies, and enforcing park rules and safety standards. This role provides front-line guest protection while delivering Texas friendly and professional customer service. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. Lifeguards will oversee assigned zones, which may include wave pools and water slides, maintain constant surveillance, and assist guests as needed. This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions while staying alert and focused throughout each shift. Lifeguards protect and assist distressed swimmers, communicate safety expectations to guests, and help create a safe, fun, and memorable environment. Key Responsibilities: Maintain constant surveillance of assigned zones to ensure guest safety implementing the “10/20 Protection Rule” while on stand to ensure the safety of guests Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, performing in-water rescues, CPR, and first aid as needed in accordance with Ellis & Associates guidelines Operate rides and attractions within the waterpark in accordance with departmental, manufacturer, and Ellis & Associates procedures, including educating and enforcing rider responsibilities and rules Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and team members Follow all delegated tasks assigned by departmental leadership or as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures and Ellis & Associates training Operate queue lines at the attraction and manage throughput and efficiency Attend a minimum of 4 hours of in-service training each month as required by Ellis & Associates Comply with all Pyek Group and Typhoon Texas policies and procedures Proactively identify operational and equipment issues and collaborate with departmental leadership to resolve them when appropriate Embody Typhoon Texas’s moment making keys of intentionality, Texas-friendliness, safety, cleanliness, and fun throughout all departments Assist with additional responsibilities, roles, departments, or park locations as needed Requirements Qualifications: Must be 15 years of age or older Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Lifeguard license through Ellis & Associates Must be 16 years of age or older for Special Facilities License Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time May be required to work in various weather conditions, including direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain Must be able to communicate in a positive and professional manner Must have a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Physical Requirements Swim 200 yards using front crawl (freestyle) or breaststroke without resting Perform a feet-first surface dive, retrieve a 10-lb. brick , and bring to the surface Exit pools without a ladder and jump from varying heights Work outdoors, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks like kneeling, bending, and lifting
