Richmond Country Club (RCC) is seeking attentive, professional, and service-focused individuals to join our Aquatics team as Lifeguards for the summer season. About This Opportunity Reporting to the Head Lifeguard and Director of Member Services, Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring a safe aquatic environment while delivering high-quality member service. This position combines vigilant lifeguarding, swim instruction, facility maintenance, and hospitality-focused member interaction. Lifeguards play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable pool environment for members and guests of all ages. Our Aquatics Facilities: RCC features a heated outdoor pool. Aquatic programs include private and group swimming lessons, adult swim, youth programs, and themed member events throughout the summer season. What's Expected From This Role Lifeguarding & Safety Supervise swimmers and enforce pool safety standards Respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and complete incident reports Monitor pool capacity, swimmer ratios, and weather conditions Swim Instruction Teach private and group lessons for all ages and skill levels Create lesson plans, track progress, and provide feedback Promote water safety education Commission earned on lessons taught Member Experience Welcome members and guests and assist with inquiries Support a positive, safe, and engaging pool environment Assist with pool activities and programs Facility Operations Support opening/closing procedures and equipment setup Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool areas Conduct routine checks and report maintenance issues Team & Administration Maintain lesson, attendance, and safety records Keep certifications current Support Aquatics team operations and additional duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience Required: National Lifeguard (Pool) Certification Standard First Aid, CPR-C & AED Certification Water Safety Instructor Certification Experience working as a lifeguard and/or swim instructor Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions Preferred: Experience teaching private and group swim lessons Experience working in hospitality or member-service environments Skills & Attributes Strong attention to safety and risk awareness Professional, calm, and confident in emergency situations Friendly, approachable, and service-oriented Strong communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative Reliable, punctual, and responsible Physically able to stand for long periods and perform rescues if required Team-oriented with a positive attitude Schedule Requirements 12 – 30 hours/week Must be available to work weekends and holidays Seasonal commitment from June through August Some of our great benefits: Lesson Commissions $5 per hour for each 30-minute swim lesson- both private and group.
