Job Details Job Location: AOK-Sand Springs Red Shield Youth Center - Sand Springs, OK 74063 Position Type: Part Time with Benefits 20 or More Salary Range: $11.61 - $11.61 Hourly Job Category: Recreation Job Summary Serve as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities. Essential Functions This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of this position. The incumbent may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description. Service Work (95%) Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area Directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving CPR and First Aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of the victim. Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the pool area; collects/disposes of trash; maintains neat and orderly pool office. Other Responsibilities (5%) Performs other related work as required. Physical Requirements Ability to meet attendance requirements. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) Working Conditions Work is performed in an indoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with humidity, heat, noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Complete the required training to be a certified lifeguard AND six months experience as a lifeguard OR any equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
