• Monitoring Pools and Beaches: As a lifeguard, your main job will be to observe swimmers, ensuring safety and providing quick assistance in case of emergencies.
• Rescue Operations: If someone is in distress, you’ll be responsible for performing water rescues, administering first aid, and possibly CPR until paramedics arrive.
• Safety Inspections: Ensure that the pool or beach area is safe for swimmers by checking for hazards, cleaning equipment, and maintaining the area.
• Emergency Response: You may need to respond to medical situations like heatstroke, dehydration, or minor injuries.
• Customer Service: Lifeguards often serve as the first point of contact for guests in resorts, pools, or beaches, so maintaining a professional demeanor is important.
• Educating Visitors: You may be asked to remind people of pool or beach safety rules, including appropriate behavior, swimming limits, and other safety guidelines.
