As a Lifestyle and Overnight Respite Worker, you’ll play a key role in this mission at our Social Wellness Centre and Overnight Respite Cottage in Rooty Hill. Hours are flexible and responsive to client needs, with rosters generally provided two weeks in advance. Your opportunity Part-time (22-38 hour per week) (Guaranteed minimum 45 hours per fortnight) - Rooty Hill In this rewarding part-time role, you will: Facilitate engaging lifestyle and recreational activities that promote wellness, independence and joy for older adults, including those living with dementia Provide person-centred support during overnight respite stays, ensuring comfort, dignity and care continuity Assist with client assessments and contribute to individualised care planning Promote spiritual care and meaningful community connections in a safe, inclusive environment Support a strong safety culture by following best practices and reporting incidents appropriately Availability is required Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:00pm, with additional afternoon and overnight shifts as needed. Shifts may include: Day shifts (approx. 6:00am–4:00pm) Afternoon shifts (approx. 11:00am–midnight) Overnight respite shifts (approx. 8:00pm–9:00am) Overnight respite shifts are typically Tuesday and Wednesday nights, with occasional Monday or Thursday nights Afternoon and overnight shifts attract a 10–15% shift loading, plus an on‑call meal break allowance Overnight shifts are usually supporting 1–2 clients, with on‑call managerial support available at all times A 15‑minute paid handover is included with respite shifts What you’ll bring You are a compassionate and proactive team player who brings warmth and creativity to your care. You’re passionate about supporting the wellbeing of older people and creating spaces where they feel valued, safe and engaged. You will also need: Certificate III in Aged Care (or willingness to obtain) Certificate IV in Leisure & Health (or willingness to obtain) Minimum 3 years’ experience in aged care or a similar support role Current C Class driver’s licence (essential) A registered and comprehensively insured vehicle Availability to work rotating shifts, including afternoons and overnight respite Unrestricted work rights in Australia and availability that aligns with the roster requirements Why Anglicare Sydney?
