This includes assisting guests during loading and unloading, maintaining clean and orderly workstations, conducting snow removal, and monitoring environmental and mechanical conditions. This position plays a key role in guest experience and safety, requiring strong communication skills, situational awareness, and attention to detail. Successful candidates are approachable, safety-minded, and thrive in outdoor, team-oriented environments. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Qualifications ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS: Lift Operation: Operate assigned chair lift safely and efficiently. Guest & Employee Safety: Ensure the safety of all guests and employees while loading, riding, and unloading lifts. Guest Assistance: Help guests and employees load lifts properly and comfortably. Area Maintenance: Maintain ramps, signs, mazes, and lift stations in a safe, clean, and organized condition. Logbook Documentation: Maintain an operational log book as required by ANSI-B77 4.3.5.1. Workstation Cleanliness: Keep lift stations clean and orderly throughout the day. Environmental Monitoring: Monitor weather and mechanical conditions and notify maintenance of unusual observations. Training Participation: Attend and participate in required Lift Attendant training sessions. Department Collaboration: Cooperate with other departments in a helpful and professional manner. Peer Training: Assist in training other Lift Attendants. Snow Removal: Shovel and clear snow from lift loading and unloading areas, including chair seats. Ticket Scanning Support: Assist ticket scanner with greeting and scanning guests, verifying skier counts, and promoting proper lift use. Issue Recognition: Understand and respond appropriately to scanning issues, hot passes, and emergency contact protocols. Guest Communication: Provide clear instructions and ensure guest understanding of lift safety procedures. SKILLS REQUIRED: Record Keeping: Ability to maintain accurate logs and legible handwriting. People Skills: Must be approachable and able to handle guest concerns or problems calmly and effectively. Positive Attitude: A strong, respectful, and team-oriented mindset is essential for success. Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain clean work areas and follow through on assigned duties. Problem Solving: Capable of resolving a variety of challenges with minimal standard procedures. Instruction Interpretation: Ability to understand and follow verbal, written, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions. Character Traits: Honesty, common sense, reliability, and respect are essential in daily responsibilities. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires consistent physical activity and awareness. Lift operators must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, regularly climb, stoop, kneel, and use their hands to operate equipment and assist guests. They must also be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling snow and lift equipment. The role requires clear vision, effective hearing, and the physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including snow, wind, and extreme cold. The ability to communicate clearly and respond quickly to dynamic situations is essential. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Lift operators work outdoors in a mountainous environment and are regularly exposed to extreme weather conditions including snow, cold temperatures, wind, and humidity. The position involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, low and high voltage equipment, and exposure to electrical shock or vibration. Tasks are frequently performed at height, and the noise level may be loud depending on location and operation.
