JOB SUMMARY

As a Lift Maintenance Apprentice (Millwright) at Sasquatch Mountain Resort, you’ll join a collaborative and safety-focused Lift Maintenance Team responsible for the reliable operation of our chairlifts and magic carpets. Working alongside our Lead Millwright and operations teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair, with the goal of achieving full Millwright certification.
This is a key front-line position that requires mechanical curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive approach. Your work directly contributes to the guest experience and the overall safety of our resort operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Certified Apprentice Millwright (preferred).
  • Previous lift maintenance experience (asset).
  • Knowledge of CSA Z98 Code (preferred).
  • Completion of Selkirk College lift mechanic courses (Lift 151, 152, 153) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, machining, and PLC electrical systems (asset).
  • Welding ticket (asset).
  • Snowmobile experience (preferred).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Intermediate to advanced skiing/snowboarding ability.
  • Comfortable working at heights (climbing/belay experience preferred).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily mechanics of the lift maintenance program under supervision.
  • Identify and report issues with lifts, components, and related equipment.
  • Assist with preventative and required maintenance of lifts and equipment.
  • Follow manufacturer manuals, specifications, and CSA Z98 standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed.
  • Support lift operations with opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist with guest/equipment transport, emergencies, and general maintenance needs.
  • Safely operate company equipment in compliance with policies.
  • Ensure safe, clean work areas and proper radio/equipment use.
  • Participate in training lift operators and maintenance staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
