SUMMARY: The Lift Operations Assistant Manager will provide excellent customer service. You will possess team leadership skills: lead, train, and motivate a diverse team of staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment. You will also be knowledgeable about resort operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior Leadership experience
  • Two plus years’ experience in Lift Operations
  • Self-starter who can determine and own what needs to be done
  • Commitment to working the entire season
  • Collaborate with lift maintenance to complete daily operational inspections during the winter season
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to multitask
  • Guest Service and/or Labor experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability is a must
  • Must be able to make quick decisions
  • Must be able to work weekends/holidays as needed
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The Lift Operations Assistant Manager works primarily outside. This position requires long periods of standing and walking on icy and/or snowy surfaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to handle ice picking and shoveling large volumes of snow. Skiing and/or snowboarding frequently throughout your shift will be required.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position involves working outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces, and requires being on your feet for most of the scheduled shift
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lift Operations Manager in overseeing daily operations, including training and onboarding new staff
  • Supervise and direct lift operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of ski lifts
  • Perform daily duties in the absence of the Lift Operations Manager, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and guest service standards
  • Smile and have a positive attitude
  • Coordinate leads to administer timely breaks for Lift Operators
  • Check on top and bottom ramp conditions throughout the day, assist with ramp rebuilds at night
  • Support operators with daily tasks, including snow removal, setup, and closing procedures
  • Assist in training and mentoring lift operators
  • Conduct routine on-hill inspections of lift operations
  • Must be able to use a two-way radio dispatch system
  • Load and unload guests safely
  • Operate lifts safely and service oriented
  • Ensuring safety requirements are met for guests and staff
  • Maintaining ramp areas/ snow removal
  • Requiring the highest guest service standards every day
  • Thorough knowledge of lift opening, closing and operating procedures
  • Work closely with the lift maintenance department to learn the proper operation of
  • lift equipment
  • Promptly notify dispatch of repair or maintenance needs
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests, homeowners, and fellow employees
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
