Description Position Overview: The Lift Operator is a vital member of the Yard Operations team within RMG. The Lift Operator’s primary responsibility is the operation of a reach stacker to move containers to and from the yard or train. The Yard operations are fast paced and require individuals to effectively communicate when handling heavy equipment. The Lift Operator must maintain a safe yet efficient mindset when operating reach stackers to best assist and support with the successful onward movement of customer cargoes. Essential Responsibilities: Safely and effectively operate a reach stacker Execute work instructions and communicate progress over the radio or on a tablet Develop and understanding of the yard layout and decking strategy Actively search for, identify, and communicate safety or maintenance issues Conduct daily pre-trip inspections on equipment operated Perform daily housekeeping tasks as needed Perform other tasks assigned by leadership Requirements Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum 1 year previous experience operating heavy equipment Organizational skills Follows instructions Effective communication Time management Experience with inventory systems and Microsoft office tools Ability to frequently lift over 50 lbs Ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to push and pull up to 80 pounds occasionally
