Overview:
We are a Calgary-based commercial interiors general contractor seeking a skilled and
detail-oriented commercial estimator to join our growing team. This position requires experience in
preparing accurate, competitive bids for interior construction projects across various commercial
sectors. You will collaborate closely with project managers and clients to deliver well-structured
proposals and ensure alignment between estimating and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on construction drawings and specifications
- Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing, and scope breakdowns
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Develop bid packages and coordinate proposal submissions
- Participate in project turnover meetings and support handoff to project managers
- Maintain and update historical cost data and estimating templates
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in commercial estimating, preferably in interior construction
- Proficiency with estimating software (SAGE 100 Contractor Estimating Module preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, scopes of work, and building materials
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work on-site in Calgary
Assets
- Experience estimating office, tenant improvements, retail, hospitality, or healthcare interior
projects
- Knowledge of local subcontractor market and pricing trends
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools or takeoff software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam)
