The role We’re looking for an experienced Light Motor Assessor to join our high-performing team based in Auckland. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in delivering fair, efficient and high-quality motor claim outcomes. You’ll bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine desire to build trusted relationships with repairers, suppliers and internal teams — all while keeping the customer experience front of mind. What you’ll be responsible for Carrying out damage assessments across a range of vehicles within the Light Motor and Private Motor space Managing repair and reinstatement costs while ensuring vehicles are repaired within agreed service standards Completing repair and total loss reports in line with reporting criteria Working closely with the wider claims team to resolve technical queries and support consistent decision-making Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with repairers and parts suppliers nationwide Staying across industry trends, technology and repair methodologies to support best-practice outcomes What we’re looking for 5+ years’ experience in insurance claims, with a strong focus on light motor Experience in assessing heavy motor vehicle claims (desirable) Broad and deep knowledge of the smash repair industry, including current trends, technologies and repair practices Strong technical understanding of motor claims processes and assessment methodologies Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders Sound judgement, critical thinking and the ability to perform under pressure and time constraints Flexibility to adapt as Ando’s Claims strategy and operating model continues to evolve Willingness and ability to travel when required Why Ando?
