Chatswood Brake and Clutch is seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic to work full time in our busy Chatswood workshop.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a great opportunity for a qualified Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic to join a supportive team and work on a wide range of vehicles. The successful applicant will perform servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs while ensuring high-quality workmanship and safe operating standards.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Trade-qualified Automotive Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic with solid workshop experience.
· Skilled in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
· Reliable, motivated, and capable of working both independently and in a team.
· Must hold a valid driver’s licence
· Must have own trade tools.
· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
· Authorised AIS inspector licence (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

· Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs on light vehicles.
· Inspect vehicles to identify faults and determine required corrective action.
· Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and cooling system issues.
· Perform clutch repairs and replacements.
· Perform brake system servicing, repairs, and replacements.
· Undertake testing and adjustment of mechanical components to ensure safe performance.
· Conduct basic auto-electrical fault finding and repairs.
· Use diagnostic equipment to locate mechanical and electronic malfunctions.
· Maintain accurate service records and inspection reports.
· Ensure compliance with workshop safety standards and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
· Perform authorised AIS inspections (Pink Slips), though not essential.
