Doncaster GTA is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our dedicated team as an Apprenticeship Light Vehicle Trainer/Tutor. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the careers of young apprentices in the automotive sector.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Technician with a strong diagnostic background.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry-standard tools, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about developing others and sharing knowledge.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will deliver engaging and practical training to apprentices on our Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair programmes (primarily Level 2 and Level 3), sharing your hands-on expertise and supporting their development both in the classroom and workshop settings.
Drawing on your diagnostic and repair expertise at Level 3 or above, you will also be expected to offer technical advice, assistance, and support to other Trainers/Tutors as needed.
Teaching experience is not essential – if you’re enthusiastic about passing on your knowledge and want to move into teaching, full training and support will be provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver training sessions and assessments in light vehicle maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair techniques.
  • Support learners to develop their technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours.
  • Monitor and track apprentice progress, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the training programme.
