LIGHTING AND SOUND SUPERVISOR OVERVIEW: DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,500 includes undergraduate day and evening students, and graduate students. EOE POSITION SUMMARY: The Lighting and Sound Supervisor leads the lighting, audio, and projection operations for Act I and the departments of Theatre, Dance and TV Film. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree * 5 years’ experience in a professional performing arts production environment * Ability to read and interpret theatrical drafting using Vectorworks or AutoCAD software * Knowledge of ETC networking, and Lightwright software * Knowledge of Q-lab software for playback of both audio and video in performance. * OSHA 10 Certification (or completion at hire) with additional knowledge of theatrical rigging safety. * Knowledge of protocols and procedures for the safe install, focus, and use of theatrical lighting equipment. * Understanding of digital audio networking (DANTE), signal path, and experience with digital audio consoles. DANTE Certification before or on hire. * Demonstrated ability to work within a production team atmosphere where multiple performances and productions overlap in the schedule and communication is key. * A strong commitment to the mentorship, training, and supervision of students. * Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability and diversity * Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution Preferred qualifications: * Experience supervising both undergraduate and professional crews preferred * Knowledge of projection technology, including types of lenses, blending multiple projectors, and projection mapping preferred * ETCP Certification in Electrics or Rigging preferred * Ability to use ProTools for audio recording and editing preferred DeSales University is an EEO employer - M/F/Vets/Disabled
