SkyBox Labs is looking for an experienced Lighting Artist to help bring the worlds of Destiny 2 to life! You’ll collaborate with talented teams to create immersive, memorable game spaces. This includes crafting evocative moods and guiding player perception with stunning real-time lighting. It’s a highly iterative process, working closely with World Artists and Designers from concept to final polish, to ensure your lighting is visually striking, performant, and seamlessly integrated with our artistic and narrative goals.

Responsibilities
  • Create and implement complex real-time lighting for game worlds using proprietary toolsets
  • Actively contribute to the highly iterative lighting workflow, collaborating closely with World Artists and Designers from functional passes to final polish to meet gameplay needs
  • Assist in establishing early lighting ideas and hues, shaping the environment’s visual direction and mood
  • Develop dynamic/scripted lighting elements, character/object lighting setups, and in-game narrative content
  • Work closely with leadership, Art Direction, and cross-discipline teams to maintain Destiny 2’s lighting aesthetic and technical standards
  • Provide constructive feedback to fellow artists and designers, enhancing team collaboration and overall project quality
  • Stay up to date on new developments in real-time rendering
