Description Position Title Lighting Department Director Department/Ministry/Location Production Supervisor Position Title Production Director Weekly Hours Typically Sunday-Thursday, 40 hours/week Position Status/ Classification Full-time, Salaried, Exempt Ministerial Status Non-Ministerial Position Summary: The Lighting Department Director provides leadership, design expertise, and operational excellence for all lighting-related aspects of worship services, conferences, events, and productions. This role requires a high-level professional lighting designer and operator capable of producing complex lighting environments while leading volunteer teams and collaborating with the broader production department. The position also includes inventory oversight, rigging collaboration, installation participation, and maintaining a high standard of visual excellence consistent with a professional production environment. Ability to work with both professional staff and volunteers effectively. Commitment to excellence, ministry values, and collaborative culture. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, conferences, and special events. Professional conduct, servant leadership attitude, and strong organizational skills. Spiritual Requirements: The incumbent in this position must abide by the Abundant Lifestyle Agreement and the Abundant Culture Guide and must attend at least one Abundant church service per week. Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely lift and carry items up to 15 pounds in weight. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Design, program, and operate professional lighting systems for services, concerts, conferences, and special events. Operate and program ETC lighting consoles and manage complex multi-universe lighting environments. Provide creative direction for stage lighting aesthetics aligned with ministry vision. Lead, train, and mentor volunteer lighting operators and technicians. Maintain lighting inventory, fixtures, consoles, cabling, and related infrastructure. Collaborate with production teams on rigging, LED walls, stage installations, and technical setups beyond lighting alone. Assist with installation and maintenance of lighting trusses, infrastructure, and production equipment. Ensure safety compliance related to rigging, electrical systems, and stage lighting equipment. Participate in production planning meetings and cross-department coordination. Support other campuses or major events when required. Help maintain professional standards in all production environments.
