Description
Performs technical procedures to obtain radiographic films of various portions of the body using recognized radio-graphical techniques to assist physicians in diagnosis of diseases and injuries with a minimum of ionizing radiation being applied.  Collects and processes laboratory specimens.  Performs additional basic laboratory procedures.  Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.  Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance.  Must exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).   WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works in a radiation exposure area.  Exposure to infectious materials, cuts, and abrasions from equipment.  A flexible work schedule is required.  Constant physical activity.  Strenuous activity involved with moving equipment and patients.  Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.              CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: Patients, visitors, physicians, Associates, and Family Medical Center support services.                                                     EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to operate radiation exposure equipment, lab equipment, and computers. Works with specimen collection devices including needles, syringes, and vacutainers.  Uses certifuge and basic laboratory tools. Qualifications Minimum of three years as staff radiographer preferred. Prior experience and/or training in laboratory procedures preferred.  Must obtain phlebotomy certification within the orientation period. ICD-9 coding experience preferred.
