JOB SUMMARY

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor of Composition faculty position in the Bailey School of Music with a preferred start date of August 2025. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Music Composition or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching a rich variety of compositional styles, genres, and media
  • Evidence of success in scholarship and creative activity at the national/international level
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
  • Experience in professional performance collaboration
Responsibilities
  • Instruction of undergraduate courses in applied composition as well as composition-related subjects as needed, with primary course delivery in-person
    Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
