We’re looking for a Line 1 Risk & Compliance Manager to join our team and help embed effective risk management and compliance practices across Heartland’s Auto business unit. Is this your next role? You’ll champion a strong risk culture and ensure operational, and compliance risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed. You’ll work closely with business leaders to implement frameworks, monitor controls, and support regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities: Lead Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and ensure alignment with bank-wide frameworks Test the design and operating effectiveness of controls Manage Risk-In-Change processes for new initiatives and systems Manage incidents, issues, and complaints end-to-end, including root cause analysis and remediation Contribute to reporting for senior leadership and the Executive Risk Committee Deliver targeted risk and compliance training and foster a proactive risk culture Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across risk and compliance practices Does this sound like you? You’re a confident, detail-oriented professional with a strong risk mindset and the ability to influence behaviours across the business. You’re a pro with: Proven experience in operational risk and/or compliance within banking or financial services Solid understanding of key regulatory obligations, eg. CCCFA, AML/CFT Experience with RCSAs, control testing, and incident management Exposure to executive-level reporting and governance A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (preferred) Strong communication skills and resilience in fast-paced environments This role closes on 11 January.
