Position Summary As the Line Cook at Elston Electric located in The Salt Shed, you will play an important role in supporting kitchen operations and delivering high quality food for guests. This role follows a Wednesday – Sunday, 4 PM – 12 AM schedule. Our ideal candidate is passionate about all things food and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Additional Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To: Set up, execute, and maintain menu items on your station efficiently and consistently. Communicate product and ordering needs promptly. Follow direction to manage all aspects of your station, ensuring quality and efficiency. Prep food products following proper rotation (FIFO) and quality checks while minimizing waste. Execute proper cooking techniques to the highest standards. Maintain a clean uniform and adhere to all dress code standards. Assist with unpacking and stocking kitchen deliveries. Complete assigned cleaning duties to maintain a sanitary and organized workspace. Requirements About You: Minimum 1 year of cooking experience with strong knife skills and a solid understanding of cooking techniques, recipes, and kitchen terminology. Valid Food Handler Certification required. Ability to use and maintain kitchen equipment properly. Positive and team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented and able to follow recipes, procedures, and safety regulations accurately. Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency. Able to stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions such as chopping, stirring, and plating. Comfortable working around allergens including peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish. Position Details & Benefits Job Type: Full-time, Hourly Compensation: $20/hour Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements. Responsibilities
