JOB SUMMARY

St. Leonard’s Place Peel is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team through the Canada Summer Jobs program.Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations you will prepare and serve nutritious, well balanced meals to the residents in accordance with the organization’s philosophy and goals & objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; culinary training or certification preferred.
  • Current Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably in a residential or healthcare setting would be an asset.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex behavioral needs, mental health challenges or addiction recovery is an asset.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and dietary needs
  • Knowledge of food serving techniques and principles of sanitation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Software
