We’re on the lookout for a motivated and skilled Cook to join our passionate kitchen team at Colonial Cafe, located inside the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre in Gatton.
This role is to replace a team member who is moving on, and we’re seeking someone with a solid foundation in kitchen operations who’s ready to contribute to a busy, high-quality cafe and function venue.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Location: Colonial Cafe, Gatton QLD
• Start Date: Mid-to-late August (negotiable – ideally to allow some crossover/training time)
• Employment Type: Full-time or part-time available
• Award: Restaurant Industry Award – pay based on experience and qualification
• Hours: Generally daytime shifts (cafe open until 4pm), with occasional night work for functions

DUTIES INCLUDE

• Preparing and cooking meals to order during breakfast and lunch services
• Supporting function catering and bulk prep for events
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
• Contributing to menu execution and consistency
• Ensuring kitchen stations are well-stocked and operating efficiently
• Working collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen teams
• Supporting apprentices and less experienced staff as needed
