We are looking for friendly, experienced food service professionals to complete our line cook team, serving great food to hungry students using state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our staff have every-other weekend off, paid holidays, opportunities for training and advancement and time off between semesters to spend with family and friends during the winter holidays. Core Responsibilities: * Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal * Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production * Maintain established logs (food temperatures, cooling temperatures, cooler & freezer temperatures, etc.) * Monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning; report any discrepancies to supervisor immediately * If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen – unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation * Hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures (below 40° if cold, above 135° if hot) * Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating * Communicate needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to supervisor appropriately, and in a timely manner. First shift works 6am - 2:30pm, Monday – Friday and every other weekend off. Experience:  · High School diploma or equivalent required * Minimum of 2 years cooking experience Must be effective with: · Effective communication skills · Reliable · Team player · Working well under pressure · Multi-tasking Physical Demands/Environment: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Environment may include hot, humid or cold conditions.
